Meet The Team

Experienced, dependable, and here to help

John Murphy

Founder

In John's words "I never set out to start a business, it just happened. I believe the reason it snowballed into what it is today is down to the fact I surrounded myself with nice, honest people. Hard working people with good skills and I treated them right. I really appreciate every person that works for JM&CO."

Paul Holdship

Managing Director

Paul employee photo
Paul joined JM&CO in 2015 bringing along 30 years of commercial plumbing, gas and heating experience. He now fulfils the role of Managing Director along with keenly running our Mechanical and Gas Maintenance and Project Management. Paul's hair has gone from black to grey in the time he's been with us but claims this proves he is experienced!

Peter Blake

Contracts Manager

Peter employee photo

Peter works closely with our clients to ensure the smooth delivery of both preventative and reactive maintenance services. As a trained fire door inspector, he also supports clients with compliance and safety, building strong relationships along the way. Having recently moved house, Peter has also developed a newfound talent for assembling flatpack furniture.

Sansa

Office Dog

Sansa 2 dog photo
An integral part of the team, Sansa has been with us from 8 weeks old. As head of security, Sansa works hard to keep us safe from delivery drivers. A keen environmentalist, she helps reduce our food waste by kindly offering to eat any leftovers.

Amy Halstead

General Manager

Amy

Amy uses her background in Project Management to keep us all on track and ensure our office runs smoothly. While making sure we are compliant with all safeguarding and H&S matters, when she's not telling us off for printing single sided in colour, she can be found enjoying a long dog walk or braving soft play with her young children, whilst trying to stay sane and caffeinated.

Priska Franklin

Finance Manager

Priska employee photo
Priska is a QBE Finance Manager with a wealth of experience from Switzerland, still trying to understand the British humour! Priska joined us in 2022 initially as maternity cover but quickly realising we couldn't be without her, we snapped her up and she's now a
permanent member of the team. When not at work, Priska is an avid skier and gym member.

Richard Wilson

Electrician

Richard employee image
Having run his own successful business for 25 years and carrying out contract works for us, we finally managed to convince Richard to join the JM&CO team full time in 2022, bringing with him 40 years of valuable experience. He really knows his stuff when it comes to Electrical services but our main reason for hiring him was so we could brag about having a 5th Dan black belt onboard.

Steve Cooper

Plumber

AKA Lights. The longest-serving member of the team, there’s not much Steve can’t turn his hand to. These days, we’re not even sure what his official speciality is...he’s been a mentor, problem solver, and all round legend to almost everyone at JM&CO over the years. If you’re stuck on a job, Steve’s your man. Such is his status, we can’t even get a photo of him - true icons prefer to remain a mystery.

Sean Heaffey

Commercial Gas

Sean our employee
Our resident vegan, affectionately known as “Hummus”. Sean contracted for us for 3 years before joining JM&CO on a permanent basis in 2018. Sean soon became an asset to our team, acing all of the training we threw at him. He's now a experienced Commercial Gas Engineer, specialising in all things HVAC.

Kyle Larkins

Gas Engineer

istockphoto 1209654046 612x612 1
Having already gained his NVQ level 2 in plumbing and heating at Reading college, Kyle joined as an improver plumber in 2021. Kyle threw himself into our training programme, blowing us away with how quickly he passed his gas exams to become our youngest ever qualified Gas Engineer at just 20.

Josh Akerman

Trainee Plumber

Having impressed us during his work experience, Josh officially joined the team in 2025. With natural talent and dedication, he’s quickly establishing himself as a promising plumbing prodigy. If he ends up knowing as much about plumbing as he does about football, he’ll go far!

Jordan Sivewright

Site Manager

It feels as though Jordan has been with us forever. That's because he has, Joining us at just 14; he was one of the first to join our apprenticeship programme straight from school. Shadowing almost every trade along the way and he's worked (talked?!) his way up, and is now a qualified Gas Engineer, managing sites and mentoring our more junior members of the team.

Morgan Gale

Trainee Carpenter

Morgan

Morgan's journey with us began in 2020, and in 2024 he officially joined the team full time. As a trainee carpenter, he's quickly building his skills. When he's not on the tools, you'll find him skateboarding and though judging by the injuries, carpentry might be the safer option!

Freddie Hibbert

Trainee Plumber

Freddie joined the team in 2024 as a trainee plumber and is quickly improving his skills in preparation to start training as a Gas Engineer. Along the way, he's already mastered one important skill, surviving Jordan's orders with a smile.
